Christmas star – picea glauca – Keep indoors for 1-2 weeks. Move into sun gradually. Pot or plant in semi afternoon shade and sun in morning. Mix soil with little gravel for drainage. Plant a little bit high, so soil of root ball is higher than ground. To avoid dessication, take soil from hole and slope it up around rootball. Do not put soil on top of rootball. Create a saucer with dirt to hold water. Mulch well. Water well 3 times week in summer and once a week in winter.
